Upcoming Event: Queer Ontario at the Toronto Dyke March

June 28th, 2011

Queer Ontario is also pleased to announce that it will be participating in this year’s more politicized and emboldened Dyke March in two very important ways:
.
.
1. Via a QUEER ONTARIO *MARCHING* CONTINGENT

(Note: This is a trans inclusive queer women’s event)
.
Meet 1:30 pm on Saturday at the Norman Jewison Parkette in Toronto
(on Isabella Street, just east of Yonge).
.
Queer and trans women are invited to march with Queer Ontario during the 2011 Dyke March on Saturday, July 2 in celebration of dyke and trans lives and radical politics. If you are interested in joining us for this momentous event, then let’s get together at the Norman Jewison Parkette at 1:30 pm around the Queer Ontario banner, where we will mingle, make signs, and enjoy the rally as we get ready to head onto the parade route.
.
* For more information on the Dyke March, feel free to check out the official Dyke March page at: http://www.pridetoronto.com/festival/parade-marches/dyke-march

.
.
2. Via a QUEER ONTARIO *CHEERING* CONTINGENT

.
Meet 2:00 pm on Saturday at Paul Kane Park in Toronto
(56 Wellesley Street East, just east of the Wellesley Subway Station).
.
Recognizing that the Dyke March is an all-women’s event, queer men and other allies are invited to gather with us at Paul Kane Park to form a cheering contingent that will celebrate the passing marchers from the corner of Yonge and Wellesley. Bring your cheering and noisemaking accessories, and any other celebratory materials you can think of!
.
.
3. HOW TO CONTACT US

.
If you are interested in participating, or if you have any questions about any of the above, feel free to contact us either through the comments section below or via the Queer Ontario email at info@queerontario.org.
.
Indeed, this promises to be a great event, so we hope to see many of you there!
.
In solidarity,
.
