Susan Gapka of the Trans Lobby Group has just informed us that NDP MPP Cheri DiNovo will re-introduce Toby’s Act to include ‘gender identity’ and ‘gender expression’ as prohibited grounds for discrimination in the Ontario Human Rights Code. This will happen on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at approximately 3:00 pm.

We encourage all available members to visit the public gallery at Queen’s Park to join the Trans Lobby Group and show their support for the Bill.

Stay connected for further details on how you can support these efforts to have gender identity and gender expression written into the Ontario Human Rights Code.

Letter to Councillor Karen Stintz regarding the TTC’s Request Stop Program

The PinQ PotluQ PikniQ — Reliving the first gay picnic on Centre Island

On August 13, Queer Ontario will be hosting the PinQ PotluQ PicniQ at Hanlan’s Point, Toronto Island, from 12 noon to 6 p.m. It’s an all-day event where LGBTQ people across Ontario will be able to get together and party like it’s 1971!*

There will be food, games, and lovers & strangers, so be sure to join us for some serious grassroots fun. (And bring all your friends, too!)

*Also known as the year of the legendary ‘gay picnic’ on Centre Island, arguably the first ‘gay pride’ celebration long before Gay Pride events ever existed.  —    Read more…
