This week on the Queer Ontario Think Tank, we have anna anthropy’s 2012 video game, “Dys4ia”: http://thinktank.queerontario.org
.
In the words of anna anthropy: “Dys4ia is an autobiographical game about the period in my life when i started hormone replacement therapy. it’s a story about me, and is certainly not meant to represent the experience of every trans person.”
.
About anna: anna anthropy is a very intense, meaningful kind of gaze that two people can share, but not lightly. she lives in oakland, california with her submissive and their two mischievous cats. she enjoys long walks on bad girls and making videogames. her first book, RISE OF THE VIDEOGAME ZINESTERS, can help you make videogames too, if you’d like to do that.
.
anna’s blog and portfolio of works can be found over at http://www.auntiepixelante.com

We are thrilled to launch the Queer Ontario Think Tank with Anne Tagonist’s 2009 essay, “Fuck You and Your Fucking Thesis” — a note to non-trans researchers who are considering doing research on trans people, trans lives, trans identities, and/or trans communities (including the lives and identities of the sexual and romantic partners of trans people). It raises a number of key points around the knowledge and power imbalances that would exist with such a project, particularly its relationship to university access for trans people and community-generated research opportunities.
.
The original essay can be found on Anne Tagonist’s LiveJournal blog, here http://tagonist.livejournal.com/199563.html, and has been posted on the Queer Ontario Think Tank via a free-use Creative Commons license issued by Anne on December 10, 2009.
