The International Day Against Homophobia

Since 2003, every May 17th, we celebrate the International Day Against Homophobia. On this day, we invite you to not only recognize the continued existence of homophobia and transphobia in our society but as well, to take a moment to celebrate the great strides we have and will continue to make in battling these oppressive ideologies.

Many different events are being held across Ontario to commemorate the day, here’s a partial list:

Durham

GSA Community Strategy Meeting

On Thursday, April 28, 2011, as part of our continuing work around Gay Straight Alliances in Catholic Schools, Queer Ontario will be hosting a Community Strategy Meeting. At this meeting, we will discuss how we as a community wish to respond to the banning of GSAs and what we can do collectively to move forward on getting these youth the GSAs they are requesting.
